Support and Assistance for Students and Staff with Disabilities

At theUniversité Grenoble Alpes, we are committed to supporting every student and staff member with a disability and making inclusion a daily reality.

Background

The 2005 founding law established equal rights, non-discrimination, and accessibility as the pillars of a more inclusive society, emphasizing that disability is first and foremost a social responsibility and not an individual burden. This shift is reflected in a significant increase in the number of students with disabilities In French higher education, enrollment has increased ninefold nationwide since 2005.

At theUniversité Grenoble Alpes in particular, The number of requests for adjustments to coursework or exams has surged by 25% between 2021 and 2024, reflecting a greater inclusion starting in school and a wider range of disability situations (including invisible disabilities).

By carrying on Grenoble’s tradition of hospitality, we reaffirm our commitment to step up efforts to promote inclusion, both for our students and our staff, among whom the percentage of employees recognized as workers with disabilities (RQTH) has also increased.
