Student Life Master Plan 2026–2030

A Shared Vision for Welcoming, Inclusive, and Vibrant Campuses
The University of Grenoble Alpes (Université Grenoble Alpes , UGA) and the Crous Grenoble Alpes are adopting a master plan for student life to bring about lasting improvements in the living conditions, academic environment, and personal development of students and doctoral candidates.
The result of a collaborative effort and extensive consultation with students, this plan serves as a shared roadmap, consistent with the UGA 2026–2030 strategic plan and the Crous Grenoble Alpes institutional plan. It builds on the initiatives already underway while addressing current challenges: diversity of the student body, mental health, financial insecurity, the ecological transition, and campus appeal.

5 Priorities for Improving the Student Experience

  1. Facilitate integration into university life to promote success for all
Provide better support during transitions (high school to university, between academic cycles), strengthen orientation and integration programs, expand administrative support, and offer appropriate housing solutions, with a particular focus on international students and students with disabilities.
  2. Making campuses vibrant places to live
Developing a rich campus life that is accessible to all—including cultural activities, sports, dining options, spaces for socializing and community, and events that bring people together—while helping students balance their studies, personal lives, and student engagement.
  3. Preserve and improve physical, mental, and social health
Combat all forms of vulnerability, strengthen access to healthcare, implement an ambitious mental health policy, prevent discrimination and violence, and encourage participation in sports as a means of promoting well-being.
  4. Strengthening Engagement and Civic Participation
Support student initiatives, promote involvement in community organizations, cultural activities, sports, and civic engagement, encourage democratic participation, and empower students to become agents of ecological and societal transformation.
  5. Improve the management of student life and campus operations
Better coordinate stakeholders, develop tools for monitoring and observing student living conditions, and strengthen communication to make the range of services more understandable, accessible, and visible.
This master plan sets forth a clear goal: to make the UGA and its campuses places of success, solidarity, and personal growth, where every student can find the conditions conducive to their academic, personal, and civic development. It unites the entire university community around a collective, evolving initiative that is responsive to students’ needs.
