Training and the Appeal of Careers in Electronics (FAME)
Skills and Careers of the Future
Training
The objectives of the FAME project are to increase the appeal of the electronics industry and to offer training content that closely aligns with the current needs of manufacturers, while anticipating future developments and the skills that will be required.
Topic:
Electronics
Background and Issues
The FAME project brings together key stakeholders in secondary and higher education in the field of electronics in the Grenoble school district, as well as several major employers from the industrial sector based in the Grenoble- Valence area.
FAME aims to make careers in electronics and the electronics industry more appealing to the general public—particularly young women and young men—and to take action at the pre-baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate levels to increase the number of students who complete training and earn degrees, adapt educational content to current industry needs, and anticipate future needs.
France 2030 Goal
Sovereignty in the Electronics Sector
Main Areas of Focus
To enhance the appeal of careers and the electronics industry, with the goal of increasing the number of women in this sector—which is often perceived as a male-dominated field—through initiatives to promote careers in electronics in middle and high schools, at career fairs and during visits to companies, training centers, and innovation hubs, as well as through industry conferences, science outreach events, and job shadowing programs.
Meeting training and skills needs: by tailoring technician and advanced technician programs at high schools and IUTs, strengthening electronics training through project-based learning at ESISAR and POLYTECH, and redesigning an apprenticeship program at PHELMA. Educational platforms will be developed and adapted: electronics for space applications, electronics and embedded systems, sensors, the industry of the future, and robotics. In continuing education, Greta Grenoble plans to adapt the micro-nanotechnology operator training program and roll it out on a larger scale.
