Research clusters: groups of laboratories

Université Grenoble Alpes brings together nearly a hundred laboratories, organized into six research hubs.
A research cluster is a strategic grouping of scientific teams. It brings together research units and organizations working on similar scientific topics and methods.

Since we share oversight of many laboratories with national research organizations (including the CNRS, the CEA, Inserm, Inria, and INRAE), these clusters are essential for defining a common research policy and ensuring the consistent use of resources (equipment, funding).

Each center is dedicated to fostering scientific excellence and facilitating collaboration across disciplines. The centers thus enable the various units of our university to work together on ambitious projects that extend beyond the boundaries of a single laboratory.
